Well the weekend is over...bummer...had a good one.  Went to a Celebrate Africa event on Saturday, I missed most of the performance because I had to go to church because I am sponsoring someone who is getting confirmed.  To be totally honest a sponsor is supposed to be someone who is a good example and role model for the Catholic Faith and I am so not that person.   I am really a bad example, I am coming to a point in my life to where I don't even know if I am Catholic at all, or for that matter if I am a christian.  But shhh...don't tell the guy I'm sponsoring.  I know I'm bad.  Anyway...I made it back to the Celebrate Africa event just in time for the food.  And all I have to say is THE FOOD WAS FLIPPIN FANTASTIC!!  It was so good that I kept getting seconds.  After the event I went to spend some time with a friend which was nice.  A good saturday!  Sunday was cool, went back to church and then went out on a traditional family lunch at our favorite hometown restaurant.  More good food!!  heck yeah. 

 

All this good eatin I really don't want to give up.  But my sister is on this diet called "New Body for life" she has lost 13 LBS in like 2 weeks!!  My mom started this last week and she has already lost 4 LBS!  Holy cow...So I am going to give it a shot.  Today is my first official day with the diet.  I find it hard.  The concept of the diet is to not eat carbs with proteins and it already freakin sucks.  But since my fam is having such success with it, I'm going to do it even if I have to give up all the great food!!  Like Burritos...mmmmm....

 

Well Monday is monday, I got a headache.  Midterms are just around the corner, does anyone have a noose?

It is the year of the Pig...the Golden Pig year, only happens every 60 years.  Year of Prosperity, so make it an exciting year and do something special!

Had a great celebration here in hicksville.  Had a dinner at the University and then went to see an awesome show!!  Great Sunday!

Holy crap...so its been awhile since I've been here.

 

First Day without the Hotty around...I am so sad...and bored.

 

Lots has happened...Its another year of school.  Determined major ANTHROPOLOGY and Secondary education!! and a minor in International Studies.  Yay for me, fourth year of college and finally decided a direction.  I am such a loser.

 

So since I've been away from blogging I just want to wish you happy holidays for all the ones I missed.  Happy Thanks, Christmas, New Year, Ramadan, Eid, Hanukkah (sp?), and Valentines Day!!  And any others I missed.

well Midterms are finally here......I actually stayed home during the weekend and studied.....mom is so proud.  I was up till 5 am last night working on a midterm assign, im tired and my back is killing me!   Anywho...I hope its over soon.

 

 

well Sunday was the highlight of my weekend!  Firstly my grandpa came from Nebraska to visit us.  We went to church and then to eat, I love when he tells us stories about when he was young and in a band (soo cool grandpa!), I just wish he didn't come when we had such crappy weather.  Then Sunday night was Diwali Night (Indian Festival of Lights) which was a blast!  Good people, good food, entertainment and Indian culture awareness!!!  Love it!  I got my hand decorated with henna (herbal tattoo) and I got to wear my cool tika (spelling?) that my sister got me.  I had a great time got to hang with friends and my other sister.  We all had a wonderful time experiencing Indian culture, music, dance, art and FOOD! (I love food from India)  However when we returned home my dad immediately said "See what happens when you are out doing wrong Indian things" (refering to Native American instead of Natives of India) "Bad things happen!"  Nice intro to the bad news that followed about my awesome grandpa. When traveling back home he had a car accident on the way back home....ugh... all of a sudden things got grimm and dark..... But all is well!  My mom is with him and hopefully he willed be released to go home!  (pray for him).  There nothing like a horrible event happening after a fun time.  It seems that my Sunday was no longer the highlight of this weekend.
